This close to the water, salt is the whole story. Chlorides attack reinforcing steel through porous concrete, so cover over the bar and a sealer that actually stands up to salt spray are not upgrades here — they are the job. Wind-driven rain and the drainage off a raised slab get planned in too.
Work in the public right-of-way — a driveway apron or a city sidewalk — needs a permit and an inspection before anything is poured, and the requirements differ from town to town. We confirm what Rockport wants before we quote, so the permit and the inspection are inside the fixed price rather than a surprise on top of it.
